IV Congress of the Oil, Gas and Construction Workers' Union of the Russian Federation

2006-03-01 In December 21-22, 2005 in Moscow the IV Congress of the Oil, Gas and Construction Workers' Union of the Russian Federation was held.

In December 21-22, 2005 in Moscow the IV Congress of the Oil, Gas and Construction Workers' Union of the Russian Federation was held.

400 delegates were elected and 377 delegates participated in the Congress which represent 1 million 328 thousand unionists.

The Congress adopted the Actions Programme of the Russian Oil, Gas and Construction Workers' Union for the intermediate term period (2006 – 2008).

The delegates of the Congress adopted a number of resolutions:

  • about the current situation;
  • about the social partnership;
  • about the problems for workers of the oil and gas complex in the areas of the extreme North and localities equated with them;
  • about equal rights and opportunities for wоmen and men;
  • about the questions of the youth policy.

The appeal to the trade unionists "About the centenary of the Union's foundation" (November 2006) was adopted.

Lev Mironov was elected unanimously the ROGWU President for the 5-years period. The Russian Council of the Union in number of 144 persons, and the Control-Auditing Commission in number of 11 persons were elected by the Conress.

At the First Meeting of the Russian Council of the Union were elected the following Vice-Presidents of ROGWU:

  • Vladimir Babkin,
  • Vasily Verevkin,
  • Evgeny Cherepanov
  • and the Presidium in number of 18 persons.
